The Last Remaining Boeing 747SP-86 Will Leave Passenger Services Forever

Iran Air, the flag carrier airline of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced the last passenger flight of the last remaining Boeing 747SP-86 in passenger services in the world. In the next three days, EP-IAC (name: Persian Gulf), the last remaining Boeing 747SP-86 in passenger services in the world will go forever from the world. The event would occur on Saturday, June 11, 2016. It was a sad news for the world of aviation since EP-IAC is the last Boeing 747 Classic in the world. A month before, Iran Air retired EP-IAI, the last Boeing 747-200B(M) in the world. Iran Air becomes the last operator of the Boeing 747-100B, Boeing 747-200B(M), and the Boeing 747SP-86 in the world. The last Boeing 747-100B and Boeing 747-100B(M) had been retired, but the Boeing 747SP-86 is still flying, and it will fly into the history forever.

Lufthansa Will End Frankfurt-Caracas Route

Lufthansa, a Germany airline announced if they would end flights to Caracas, Venezuela, currently Lufthansa is operating flights from Frankfurt to Caracas with the airline's four-engined Airbus A340-300 or Airbus A340-600. The Lufthansa's last flight to Caracas will be occurred on June 17, 2016. A Lufthansa spoke person said if the airline ended Caracas route because of low demand and the airline is having trouble converting Venezuelan currency. Not just Lufthansa, many major airlines like U.S. based American Airlines and Delta Airlines, Air Canada from Canada, and an Italian airline, Alitalia decided to cut flights to Venezuela.

Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A350-900 XWB

Cathay Pacific, the flag carrier airline of Hong Kong confirmed if they will receive the first Airbus A350-900 XWB. Cathay Pacific will perform the first revenue flight of its Airbus A350-900 XWB on June 1, 2016, from Hong Kong to Manila, and then will be followed to Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, Osaka Kansai, and Ho Chi Minh City. Cathay Pacific is planning to add twenty-two Airbus A350-900 XWB in the next two years. The Airbus A350-900 XWB becomes the replacement for Cathay Pacific’s aging Boeing 777-200s and Boeing 777-200s that equipped with older products, especially on business class seats. The Airbus A350-900 XWBs of Cathay Pacific also will be wore the new livery of Cathay Pacific
