The Indonesian subsidiary of AirAsia Group, Indonesia AirAsia did "Kartini Flight" on April 21, 2016, to celebrate "Kartini Day" in Indonesia. Kartini Day is a public holiday in Indonesia to celebrate the birthday of Raden Ajeng Kartini, a woman hero in Indonesia that struggle for women's emancipation in Indonesia. The Kartini Flight was started on April 21, 2016, on flight QZ7520 from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta to Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar, with 180 passengers on board, piloted by Captain Monika Anggreini. Indonesia AirAsia did the first Kartini Flight in 2015 and will do Kartini Flight again on every Kartini Day every year.

Indonesia AirAsia Doesn't Have a Plan to Return on Surabaya-Singapore Route

Indonesia AirAsia, a low-cost carrier airline of Indonesia, and also one of the subsidiaries of AirAsia Group announced if they don't have the plan to return on Surabaya-Singapore route even after Indonesian Ministry of Transportation allowed Indonesia AirAsia to fly back on Surabaya-Singapore route.

The Indonesia AirAsia's flights on Surabaya-Singapore route was suspended by Indonesian Ministry of Aviation after the deadly crash of Indonesia AirAsia flight 8501 on December 28, 2014. Indonesia AirAsia flight 8501 was en route from Surabaya-Juanda International Airport to Singapore-Changi International Airport when it stalled and crashed into the Java Sea, killing 162 people on board. The final report of the accident is poor maintenance and improper crews action in an emergency condition. Now, this accident remains as the second deadliest plane crash in Indonesia after Garuda Indonesia flight 152.
