Korean Air's Boeing 777-300 Suffered Engine Fire At Tokyo-Haneda International Airport

HL7534, a Boeing 777-300 aircraft of Korean Air suffered engine fire at the time when it was taxiing at Tokyo-Haneda International Airport as flight KE2708 on May 27, 2016. Flames were detected in one of the Boeing 777-300's Pratt & Whitney PW4090 engines before the aircraft departed to Seoul-Gimpo International Airport. The takeoff was canceled immediately after the fire detected, luckily all 302 passengers and 18 crews on board were evacuated safely. The emergency vehicles came immediately and sprayed the aircraft with foam. The aircraft, HL7534, is an 18,3 years old Boeing 777-300. It was being delivered to Korean Air on December 28, 1999. It mainly operated Korean Air's high-density regional and short until medium-haul international routes.

Korean Air Will Fly to Okinawa

HL7530, Korean Air's first Boeing 777-200ER at Tokyo-Narita International Airport on 29 December 2010. Korean Air will operate this aircraft type to serve Okinawa route


Korean Air, the national airline of the South Korea and also the largest airline company in South Korea announced if they will begin passenger service from Seoul-Incheon International Airport to Okinawa-Naha Airport start from 5 May 2016. The route will be served seven times in a week by 248 seated Boeing 777-200ER. Flight from Seoul to Okinawa will take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. Based on www.koreanherald.com, Okinawa is one of the most popular tourist destination in Japan with over 7,000,000 people visiting the city in a year.
