Qatar Airways Will Open the Second Longest Flight in the World





On 2 March 2016, A6-EON, an Emirates's Airbus A380-800 aircraft touched down in Auckland as Emirates flight 448 after 14,215 kilometers (8,833 miles) journey from Dubai without any stop. Now, that flight is one of the longest flight until now. The longest flight until now was Singapore Airlines flight 21 from Singapore to Newark with 15,343 kilometers (9,534 miles) of distance by Airbus A340-500 aircraft. But, later the flight suspended by Singapore Airlines after the retirement of Airbus A340-500 aircraft. But will be open again in 2018 and will be served by Airbus A350-900 XWB 'ULR/Ultra Long-Range' version

Now, Qatar Airways announced if they will open the longest route in the world. Qatar Airways will fly non-stop between Doha and Auckland, with 14,539 kilometers (9,034 miles) of distance. The airline said the flight  will be open at the latest in December 2016. The route will be served by the longest range aircraft, the Boeing 777-200LR.



Flying from Auckland to Doha expected to take around 17 hours and 30 minutes while the Doha to Auckland leg expected to take about 16 hours and 20 minutes.
